Melia toosendanin is a common plant of the genus Meliaceae. Its main active ingredient, toosendanin, can be used as a traditional Chinese medicine for anthelmintic and antibacterial. It is also an insecticide with broad development prospects. It has a toxic effect on a variety of pests, mainly manifested in making insects avoid and refuse to feed; inhibiting insect growth and development, contact killing, and systemic poisoning. Toosendan extract comes from the dried mature fruit of Toosendan, a plant of the Meliaceae family. The fruit is harvested in winter when it is ripe, impurities are removed, and it is dried.
